font-size: large;">I found a document published by the California Department of Corrections (2011) which gives a statistical breakdown of actual prison time served by inmates.

The statistics are broken-down by specific crime... i.e., 1st degree murder, manslaughter, rape, etc.

In short, it states the mean/median time served by an inmate (for a specific crime) before they are first paroled.

According to the document, inmates convicted of first degree murder (pre 11-8-78) serve an average of 408 months in California, before they are released on parole.

408 months = 34 years

Extrapolate what you will from those figures, but statistics are hard to dispute.

Post 11-8-78, the average first degree murderer serves 344 months in California, which translates to 28.5 years.

I'm not a fan of Bobby, and personally, I'd have no problem seeing him die in jail.
He has a smug attitude, which I find repelling.

However, I'm also a firm believer that punishment should be carried-out in a consistent manner. People perpetrating similar crimes, should serve similar sentences.

If we feel that our justice system is being too lenient on crime (in general), we should enact laws which are tougher (across the board) on EVERYONE.

I think it's pretty safe to conclude (at this point) that being associated with "the Manson Family" (and the notoriety that entails), creates obstacles for Bobby, Bruce and Leslie (in terms of parole) that the average (unknown) inmate will never know.

Common sense and statistical data seem to support that conclusion.

I guess, how one feels about this apparent "double standard" situation, depends largely upon one's personal feelings towards Bobby, versus their feelings regarding consistency in punishment.
<span style="color: yellow; Channels’ lawyer, Theodore Theodosiadis, told Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Clifford Klein that he will bring a motion to obtain the sample.

Freeman, wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with “Be The Change,” explained after the hearing his reason for not wanting to voluntarily grant Channels’ request.

“There are people on the other side who are trying to build up a case against me,” said Freeman, adding that he will take the test if the judge orders it because he is convinced of his relationship to Manson.

“To me, it’s an open-and-shut case,” Freeman said. “All my life that’s the way I grew up. That’s all I’ve known.'

Meanwhile, Klein extended until June 21 attorney Dale Kiken’s role as temporary special administrator role over the mass killer’s estate. Kiken originally was appointed to the role on Aug. 28, giving him authority to protect Freeman’s interests, but the term was scheduled to expire Friday.

Kiken is tasked with recovering property, on behalf of Freeman, that the cult leader left behind in prison when he died Nov. 19, 2017, at age 83. The notorious killer died at Bakersfield Mercy Hospital of heart failure triggered by colon cancer that had spread to other areas of his body.

Kiken told the judge that he has already obtained boxes of Manson’s belongings from Corcoran State Prison, but that he has not gone through the items yet, nor does he know their potential value.

“I would guess those are some difficult items to appraise” Klein said.

Klein ordered that redacted documents Theodosiadis obtained from the prison by subpoena be kept under seal and viewable only by lawyers and investigators in the case. Kiken’s lawyer, Alan Davis, said he does not know what information is in the paperwork Theodosiadis obtained.

Freeman said he is unaware of the nature of the items Kiken obtained from the prison, but that the potential value of the property is not as important to him as the spiritual peace he has reached with himself.

“I’m [happy] in my life finally at age 43,” Freeman said. “I know I’m going to go home and go back to work.'”

Freeman said he has four children and works in construction. He said he also trains people in martial arts.

He won a significant court victory when a Kern County commissioner ruled in March that he was entitled to Manson’s remains. Freeman and Kiken maintain that a 2002 Manson will Channels alleges he possesses is a forgery. Channels said the will, filed in Kern County in November 2017, names him the executor of Manson’s estate.

A trial on the competing petitions by Kiken and Channels to be the estate’s permanent administrator has not been set.

Article submitted by Lee.

LynyrdSkynyrdBandnoreply@blogger.com28tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6001083595175224919.post-25735929722923421942018-11-16T14:50:00.000-05:002018-11-16T14:50:17.616-05:00Sam Kinison: This country's last Republican college professor.LynyrdSkynyrdBandnoreply@blogger.com22tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6001083595175224919.post-30547607709863601292018-10-26T21:30:00.000-04:002018-10-30T11:47:36.438-04:00William Weston writes....
Hi,

The following is a suggestion for a thread on the Tate-LaBianca Homicide Research Blog. It involves glasses that were found in the Tate home and did not belong to the victims or the killers. This indicates that at least one other person was in the house that night.

When Charles Manson announced to his followers at Spahn Ranch on August 8, 1969 "Now is the time for Helter Skelter,” he told Tex Watson, Patricia Krenwinkel, Susan Atkins, and Linda Kasabian to get knives and changes of clothes. Shortly after midnight, they entered the home of actress Sharon Tate at 10500 Cielo Drive in Benedict Canyon and brutally murdered her and four other people.

Originally, the police believed the slaughter at the Tate house was the work of one man. A clue to his identity was a pair of glasses found in the living room. A lieutenant for the Los Angeles Police Department, Robert Helder, showed them to the press on October 23 and said that the killer probably lost them during the struggle with the victims. He further said the owner was extremely near-sighted and could not operate a vehicle without them. An unusual feature was the plastic lenses. Unlike glass lenses, plastic resisted shattering and was the choice of very active people such as athletes. The amber-colored, horn-rimmed frames were of a specific type manufactured by the American Optical Corp. The customized bend of the temple shafts showed that the left ear was about one-fourth to one-half inch higher than the right. Police sent flyers to thousands of eye doctors, hoping that someone might provide information about the man who bought them.

Glasses found at the Tate house.

What the news media hailed as a major breakthrough in October quickly became an almost forgotten loose end in December after the arrest of Charles Manson, Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Linda Kasabian, none of whom wore glasses.

When the case came to trial, prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi feared that defense attorneys might bring up the glasses and make the reasonable assertion that at least one killer was still at large. He could have simply laid low in the bushes with the 3 girls and let him pass. It’s doubtful Parent would have noticed them. The only reason I can surmise is that Parent would have noticed their car, parked down the hill, on his exit. He could have provided a description of the car after the murders, and if he were suspicious enough to note the license plate, that would have been a real liability.

But then why use the revolver instead of the knife? They were going to creepy-crawl the house, relying on a stealth approach — and to initiate the whole thing with 4 gunshots in a canyon that would echoed the sound? Watson had to know that the shots might have alerted the occupants, and possibly other inhabitants of the canyon. Someone might have called the police. (I’ve done this before when I heard distinctive gunshots in my neighborhood). Garretson heard the shots and thought they were Parent’s car backfiring. If Garretson heard them from the Guest House, further away, it’s probable that the occupants heard them, too. Only Frykowski was asleep.

I understand that the team had rolled the car back down the hill silently after approaching the gate. But I don’t know how far down the car was, or how exposed it was. Seems Watson was not thinking too clearly here. He could have ordered Parent out of the car at gunpoint, led him to the bushes, and he and the 3 girls could have dispatched him with the knives without making a racket.

But then Watson was not thinking too clearly when he told the victims they were “all going to die,” setting off panic.

Thanks,
TravisLynyrdSkynyrdBandnoreply@blogger.com265tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6001083595175224919.post-1153979053290771002018-06-07T13:45:00.001-04:002018-06-07T15:44:04.085-04:00The Lost Tapes of Robert Hendrickson?
https://deadline.com/2018/06/fox-charles-manson-doc-series-liev-schreiber-1202404672/

Fox Prepares Liev Schreiber-Narrated Charles Manson Doc Special Based On Unseen Archive Footage Of The Cult

EXCLUSIVE: Fox is exploring the gruesome murders carried out by Charles Manson’s ‘family’ in a new Liev Schreiber-narrated documentary special based on a vault of unseen footage of the cult. I hear that the broadcaster has ordered two-part Inside The Manson Cult: The Lost Tapes from Naked Entertainment.

The documentary is a retelling of the Manson story using original 16mm footage that was found in the archives of Robert Hendrickson, the filmmaker behind Oscar-nominated doc Manson who died in 2016. The series will look at how the members, who carried out a number of grisly murders, including the brutal attack on Sharon Tate, went from peace-loving hippies to mass murderers.

The two-parter goes inside Spahn’s Ranch, where the Manson cult lived, to offer an intimate and terrifying look into America’s most murderous group. The special will feature rare photos and new and archival interviews with former Manson cult members, such as Catherine “Gypsy” Share and Dianne “Snake” Lake, as well as key people involved in the Manson case, including prosecutor Stephen Kay and FBI criminal profiler John Douglas.

Directed by Hugh Ballantyne (Finding Jesus), the doc will explore how Manson orchestrated the murders and encouraged a group of mostly young, middle class women to carry out the killings, which he hoped would be blamed on the Black Panthers and lead to a race war.

The doc is produced by Naked Entertainment, the FremantleMedia-backed UK and U.S. production company set up by Simon Andreae, who was Executive Vice President, Alternative Entertainment at Fox Broadcasting between 2013 and 2015. It is the company’s first major U.S. network order, having recently made a number of series for Viacom’s Channel 5 and Channel 4 in the UK. Inside The Manson Cult: The Lost Tapes is exec produced by Andreae, Ballantyne, Richard Dale, Allan Gaba and Dean Egnater. It is understood to have been co-produced in association of British broadcaster ITV.

The special is the latest Charles Manson-related project to emerge as the 50th anniversary of the cult’s most infamous murder, the killing of Tate, approaches next year. Quentin Tarantino’s forthcoming movie Once Upon A Time, which stars Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio also mines this world.

It is the latest Charles Manson project developed by Fox; in 2014, the broadcaster developed a scripted series from American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis and horror director Rob Zombie that was set a year before the Manson family’s murder spree in 1969. However, it never made it to air and was ultimately trumped by NBC’s David Duchovny-fronted series Aquarius, which mined similar territory.

starshiphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13207679706874165027noreply@blogger.com25tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6001083595175224919.post-20221335144082830462018-06-01T13:14:00.000-04:002018-06-01T16:08:51.926-04:00The Debate Rages On...Katie and I are always fighting over which situation is more miserable... the winter cold up north (Massachusetts), or the summer heat down south (Texas). It's been very valuable to me in the creation of Manson's Girls. I wrote the lyrics for this show which will have it's world premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival less than two weeks from now. If any of you are in the Hollywood area I would be pleased to give you free tickets.

The musical covers the month between the arrival of Linda Kasabian and the murders. It is meant as a cautionary tale rather than an exploitation piece, as we see Linda sliding down the slippery slope from hippie to murder accomplice. It is not a comedy, though it has it's ironic moments.

There is a rock and roll score performed by a live band accompanying a dozen snappy songs like "Every Day I Fall In Love" (Squeaky's ode to Charlie) and "Helter Skelter" (the finale where the whole family revs up their bloody engine for revolution). We're told the body was decomposing badly, and needed heavy makeup and gloves to cover the deterioration. He died 4 months ago but his body was put on ice until a judge decided who would take control of it.

Approximately 30 people showed up at the funeral home. His grandson, Jason Freeman -- the man who won control over the body -- spoke at the service, as did a Manson follower.

Manson's service didn't end with a burial. His body was cremated and his ashes were spread along a nearby creek bed in a forest. Apparently it was a windy day, because the ashes blew back on the guests.

We're told the attendees included Manson's former fiancee, Afton Burton, and former Manson Family member Sandra Good.

As TMZ first reported ... Manson -- the mastermind behind one of the most heinous murder sprees in American history -- died of natural causes back in November 2017. Deputies attempted to contact Gordon, but reportedly were unsuccessful as of the time of the report.

Donna Stemple, Martin’s wife, told the Journal they do not really know what their nephew, Channels, is doing in California as it relates to the Manson situation. Her husband only filed the report with deputies in an attempt to get Gordon to stop calling after she began at 4 a.m. and continually called each time they hung up the phone.

One of Channels’ Facebook pages, which he has not updated since 2014, states he went to Wellsville High School and lives in Los Angeles, Calif. The page contains many posts with references to Manson; Helter Skelter, which was the name of some of the reported apocalyptic teachings of Manson; and the Museum of Death, which showcases death-related memorabilia including Charles Manson Family relics.

Additionally, Channels is reportedly the webmaster for the webpage Mansonsbackporch.com, which has letters between Manson and Channels and other items related to Mason and the family. There is a photo on the page, which appears to show Manson and Channels sitting together visiting in a prison.

According to the Los Angeles Times, as of Dec. 21, five people have now come forward claiming their right to the body of Manson, including one who claims to be a long-time pen pal of Manson.

Manson’s followers were reportedly responsible for the killing of nine people including a pregnant actress, Sharon Tate. Although he reportedly was not the actual killer, he was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in 1971 for his role in instructing those who carried out the murders, and spent the remainder of his life in prison.

http://www.morningjournalnews.com/news/local-news/2017/12/not-us-family-says-of-manson-connection/katie8753noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6001083595175224919.post-83015082743916541032017-12-22T13:04:00.000-05:002017-12-22T13:12:08.675-05:00Manson not cremated yet, refrigerated in Kern County.http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-manson-remains-20171221-story.htmlLynyrdSkynyrdBandnoreply@blogger.com1
